How do I get my inFlow On-Premise information into QuickBooks Online?

Please note: we will sunset inFlow On-Premise on July 31, 2024. After sunset we will stop selling or activating new licenses for inFlow On-Premise and stop providing support (including online KB articles).

Note: inFlow On-Premise doesn’t have a built-in integration with QuickBooks Online, but check out inFlow Cloud’s integration with QuickBooks Online.

Even though inFlow On-Premise doesn’t have an integration, QuickBooks Online allows you to map the fields that are included in Excel files so that you can import information easily. This can be done for Customers, Suppliers, Products and Accounts (the inFlow equivalent is Customers, Vendors, and Products, however please keep in mind that inFlow does not have Accounts information).

Before we start, please have a look at these articles for “importing data to QuickBooks Online” and “exporting data from inFlow” . To import an Excel file for any of the above into Quickbooks first start the program then go to Options > Import Data (as seen below)

This will open a new window in which you may choose the data to be imported into QuickBooks Online:

Please see below how each category of QuickBooks Online imports work with the inFlow exports.

Import Customers
Start by exporting customer details from inFlow.

Click on the import in QuickBooks Online for customers.  Now you can map the fields. You will see QuickBooks Online field names on the left and you will be able to choose the correlated inFlow column header from the drop down list on the right.

Import Suppliers
Start by exporting vendor details from inFlow.

Click on the import in QuickBooks Online for suppliers.  Now you can map the fields. You will see QuickBooks Online field names on the left and you will be able to choose the correlated inFlow column header from the drop down list on the right.

Import Product and Services
Start by exporting product details from inFlow.

Click on the import in QuickBooks Online for product and services.  Now you can map the fields. You will see QuickBooks Online field names on the left and you will be able to choose the correlated inFlow column header from the drop down list on the right.

Note: If your product name was the SKU in inFlow, change the fields around so “Name” is in the QuickBooks Online SKU Field.

When you’re happy with the information you’ve selected simply click “next” that will bring you to confirm your details. If you like how the details look click “import” to complete the import process.
