{"id":3248,"date":"2014-06-25T18:49:56","date_gmt":"2014-06-25T22:49:56","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.inflowinventory.com\/support\/article\/3248\/error-printingloading-documents-or-reports\/"},"modified":"2018-05-11T13:38:30","modified_gmt":"2018-05-11T17:38:30","slug":"error-printingloading-documents-or-reports","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/onpremise.inflowinventory.com\/support\/article\/45986044\/error-printingloading-documents-or-reports\/","title":{"rendered":"Error printing\/loading documents or reports in inFlow On-Premise"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re having problems printing your documents in inFlow On-Premise, or if you&#8217;re getting an error that says &#8220;Error loading document&#8221; or &#8220;Error loading report&#8221; when you try to load or print documents and reports, please try the steps below.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Check printer settings<\/h2>\n<p>inFlow doesn&#8217;t have its own printer setup\/ printer settings. It just uses your computer&#8217;s default printer to <strong>generate<\/strong> and print\u00a0documents. This means that if your default printer is set to a small receipt\/ thermal printer, or if the paper size has been changed to something smaller, it&#8217;s not going to be able to generate a full sized document or report. You&#8217;ll need to switch it back.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To check and correct printer settings:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start &gt; Control Panel &gt; Devices and Printers. You should see a list of your printers and other devices.<\/li>\n<li>Check to see which printer is selected as the default. This is usually marked by a green checkmark beside the printer.<\/li>\n<li>If the wrong printer (POS \/ thermal receipt) is set up as the default, right click on the full-sized printer\u00a0and choose \u201cSet as default printer&#8221;.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote><p>Note also that inFlow is not compatible with dot matrix printers so if you&#8217;re using one, please try an ink or laser printer instead.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n\n<h3>I&#8217;ve changed the default printer before, but this keeps happening.<\/h3>\n<p>If this problem is occurring frequently, it could be that you are using Windows 10. In Windows 10 there is a setting that sets your default printer to the last printer used. This could be why Windows keeps changing the default printer for you\u00a0to an incompatible printer, causing issues with inFlow.<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>To change the default printer settings in Windows 10:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li class=\"_AXc\">Click Start, and click the gear icon on the Start window to open the Settings app.<\/li>\n<li class=\"_AXc\">In the Settings screen, click Devices &gt; Printers and Scanners.<\/li>\n<li class=\"_AXc\">Scroll down to the option named &#8220;Let Windows manage my default printer&#8221;. Turn this off!<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Now you should be able to\u00a0switch between your other printers without it affecting inFlow.<\/p>\n\n<h2>Reinstall Crystal Reports<\/h2>\n<p>If your printer settings are correct, then it could be an issue with inFlow&#8217;s document generation and printing component, Crystal Reports. You can try reinstalling Crystal Reports to fix this error.<\/p>\n<p><strong>To uninstall and reinstall Crystal Reports:\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Click Start &gt; Control Panel &gt; Uninstall a Program\/Programs and Features. If you don&#8217;t see SAP Crystal Reports in your list of programs, it might not be installed and may be causing the issue, move on to the next step to install it.<\/li>\n<li>From the above screen, go back to the main Control Panel and click System and Security &gt; System.<\/li>\n<li>In the System screen, check your computer&#8217;s <em>System Type<\/em>. It should show &#8220;32-bit Operating System&#8221;\u00a0<strong>or<\/strong> &#8220;64-bit Operating System&#8221;.<\/li>\n<li>Download the Crystal Reports installer file based on your operating system:\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn2.inflowinventory.com\/Download\/Installer\/ThirdParty\/CRRuntime_1306_x86.msi\">For 32-bit Windows<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/cdn2.inflowinventory.com\/Download\/Installer\/ThirdParty\/CRRuntime_1306_x64.msi\">For 64-bit Windows<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Restart inFlow and try generating or printing your document again.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>If you&#8217;re still having problems please contact us using any one of the methods below!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>If you&#8217;re having problems printing your documents in inFlow On-Premise, or if you&#8217;re getting an error that says &#8220;Error loading document&#8221; or &#8220;Error loading report&#8221; when you try to load or print documents and reports, please try the steps below.
