To update the <\/span>Category<\/span><\/i> field on multiple products at once, you can use a Product Details import. <\/span><\/p>\n

The quickest way to do this is to export your current products into a spreadsheet first:<\/span><\/p>\n

  1. Go to the <\/span>Main Menu > Inventory > Product List<\/span><\/i>. You can use this screen to export all of your products, or you can filter for specific products only. <\/span><\/li>\n
  2. To export your product list, right-click on the column header and select <\/span>Export Contents to CSV <\/span><\/i>and save the file to your computer.

  3. Open the resulting file in Excel and update the <\/span>Category <\/span><\/i>column with your new product categories.

  4. Save the file as a .CSV file type (click <\/span>Save As<\/span><\/i> and select \u201c.csv (comma delimited)\u201d from the \u201cSave as type:\u201d drop down). <\/span><\/li>\n
  5. Click <\/span>Save<\/span><\/i> (<\/span>Excel<\/span><\/i> will warn you about the loss of formatting, this is not a problem, please click <\/span>Yes<\/span><\/i> to complete your save).<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Once you have your updated import file, all you need to do is import it into inFlow!<\/span><\/p>\n

    1. Click <\/span>Main Menu \u00a0> General > Import Data.<\/span><\/i><\/li>\n
    2. Select <\/span>Product Details<\/span><\/i> as the data type at the top of the screen.<\/span><\/li>\n
    3. Click the <\/span>Browse<\/span><\/i> button to select your import file and click <\/span>Next<\/span><\/i>.<\/span><\/li>\n
    4. In the following screen, match the inFlow field\u00a0<\/span>Item Name\/Code<\/span><\/i> and <\/span>Category<\/span><\/i> to the correct column in your file (<\/span>Item <\/span><\/i>and <\/span>Category) <\/span><\/i>by selecting them from the drop down list (see screenshot below).<\/span><\/li>\n
    5. Once you\u2019re satisfied with your matches, click <\/span>Next<\/span><\/i>.

      That\u2019s it! Your product categories will now be updated with those from your import file. <\/span><\/p>\n
